Holistic Action Against Lymphatic Filariasis in Central Ethiopia

Advocacy Workshop for Stakeholders

A zonal-level advocacy workshop was conducted in Worabe town, engaging 40 key stakeholders from regional, zonal, woreda health offices, and community leaders. This workshop aimed to promote awareness about lymphatic filariasis, encourage cross-sector collaboration, and mobilize support for integrated care and disability prevention.

Hydrocele Surgery Agreement

Agreements were established with Alemgebeya and Tora Primary Hospitals to provide surgical care (hydrocelectomy) for hydrocele patients referred from community and woreda levels, enhancing healthcare accessibility and service quality for affected populations in the target regions

HRO collaborates with local NGOs to mobilize resources through partnerships and coordinating efforts. Currently, HRO is working with National Podoconiosis Action Network's(NaPAN) across Podoconiosis and Lymphatic Filariasis prevention and Management to address the needs of the communities they serve effectively.

HRO closely working with government stakeholders, community structures and institutions to reach the affected groups and ensure their engagement in the project implementation. HRO ensures the smooth implementation of its projects by signing Operational and project agreements with relevant stakeholders at regional, zonal, and woreda levels before initiating any project interventions.

HRO collaborates with private suppliers and individuals at the project area, regional, and national levels, particularly for the procurement of project materials, vehicle rentals, and organizing events and logistics.
